Conformation
General Properties - Vicki is a strong, sound, well-balanced bitch. Her movement is powerful and correct from every angle -- she moves straight down from the shoulder in front and straight down from the hip behind, with a beautiful roll and excellent reach and drive. She moves out easily with her head up and her mouth shut. She has no awkward moments -- she stands square naturally because she can't stand any other way. She is clear white with a red brindle patch over one ear; she has heavy pigment which came in early. Her coat is thick, sleek and glossy -- it is not a "see-through" white coat. She weighs approximately 53 pounds. We co-own Vicki with Richard Smith.
Head and Neck - Vicki has a clean, well-proportioned, brick-shaped head with good length and depth to the skull. She has well-developed cheeks and excellent foreface. The layback of her skull is flat; ideally, we would like to see her nose laid back just a shade more. Her stop could be deeper. She has a well-turned, absolutely true jaw with good width. Her eyes are healthy, properly set and almost black. She has properly set rose ears which could be slightly finer. She is clean, with just enough dewlap and flews to make a pretty picture. She has a beautiful neck -- strong, thick, and beautifully arched.
Body - Vicki's body is hard to fault. She is a cobby, heavy-boned, beautifully balanced bitch with a short back and a beautiful topline. She has excellent, well-sprung rib, with nice width and depth through the chest and deep brisket. Her shoulders are well-constructed and perfectly tacked on. She has a classic pear shape and a lovely underline, with excellent tuckup. Her rear is exceptionally strong and well-muscled. She is muscular and clearly athletic, without being doggy. Her tail is set low, following the line of her topline; it's a little tighter than we would like ideally. Her feet are small, tight and neat, with strong pasterns.
Temperament - Vicki is brash, eager, confident, intelligent and energetic. She is demonstrative, boisterous and affectionate. She has pacific and dignified moments, which sometimes occur in the show ring and last long enough for big wins. When she is "on" she stands like a marble statue, with every muscle etched and obsidian eyes twinkling -- she is impossible to miss. When she is not, she is an absolute clown who plays to the crowd and ignores everything she has ever known about being a proper show dog. There is nothing delicate or sensitive about her, and she most definitely is not a lady. Vicki comes from the flying tackle school of life -- she does nothing halfway, and does not recognize the word moderation. Her co-owner has suggested that we re-name her "Sybil." She lives happily with two other bitches and a family with children.
Health and Longevity - Vicki is an exceptionally strong, sound, healthy bitch. She has seen the vet for annual shots, for progesterone tests prior to breeding, and then for her C-section. She breathes well, with an excellent throat, palate and wide, open nostrils. Her eyes are clear and healthy, with no extra lashes or structural problems of any kind. She is structurally sound, with a strong rear and shoulders. She has no allergies or skin problems of any kind.
She represents the third generation of bitches descended from our Ch. Post Hoc Whitney Houston. We have seen the same exceptional health record through all four generations. Whitney lived 11 and a half year, and her her mother, Ch. Post Hoc White Lightening, lived to 12. Vicki's maternal grandmother, Resolute Stardust, is still going strong at 9. All four generations are white (in some cases with a very small patch of brindle), with very dark, heavy pigment which comes in early, and eyes which are almost black.
Vicki's sire, Resolute Jebel Musa, died recently at 10. Jeb's sire, Ch. DEYDEL STEADFAST HERCULES lived 10 years; Herc's sire, Ch. GLYNDEBOURNE ROYAL FANFARE, lived to 13, along with a littermate, and their dam, Luthien Diva of Glyndebourne, died at 15. Jeb's mother, Jennie's Darling Daphne, lived 9 years.
Vicki's maternal grandsire, Ch. CHEROKEE DAKOTA ROBERT, broke a forty year+ record for specialty Best of Breed wins when he took his 40th at age seven last year. Robert's sire, Ch PRESTWICK GAWAIN, is 11, his grandsire, Ch. HETHERBULL BOUNTY'S FRIGATE, lived 12 years, and his mother, Ch. Dakota Arrogant Harriet, lived 10 years.
Show Record
Vicki took her first point from the puppy class under Anna K. Nicholas. Highlights of her show wins include her first major under Dr. Robert Berndt, BOW under Rose Molder; Best of Breed from the classes under Ann Heir at Burlington County KC; and Winners Bitch at the Chesapeake Bulldog Club of Baltimore under Ruth Williams, to finish her championship in spectacular style with her third major. She was a class winner at the Bulldog Club of New England specialty show which was the backup show to the 1999 Nationals.
Breeding Record
Vicki was our pick of the litter pup from a litter we co-bred. She stood out early and has lived up to her promise. Vicki's mother, Resolute Emma Pauline, was from a litter which included two future champions. While Emma Pauline was probably finishable, her sisters were clearly outstanding, so Emma Pauline went to live with Doug and Rosa Burnett as a much-loved family pet. Emma Pauline is a strong, sound, healthy, and exceptionally active bitch. She is white with faint brindle ticking, and weighs approximately 60 pounds. She is a very strong mover, with a lovely neck, topline and tail set. She is heavy boned and very clean. She has a very strong rear, well-constructed shoulders and tight feet. She is slightly high on the leg and could use slightly more rib and brisket. She has a long, flat, very clean skull. Her jaw is nicely turned and absolutely true, with good width. She has good ears, correctly set. Her eyes are healthy, correctly set, and almost black. Emma Pauline was spayed after her only litter.
The influence of Vicki's maternal great-grandmother, Ch. Post Hoc Whitney Houston, can be seen throughout our breeding program. Whitney finished with a four point major under breeder judge Bob Hetherington. She was bred three times and produced two champions. We bred the best pup from each of her three litters. They have so far produced six champions -- four of whom finished with one or more specialty majors, and two who finished with three majors. Whitney contributed exceptional health and soundness, and a distinctive English head which we still see in many of her great- and great-great grandchildren. For the most part, bitches in this line are exceptionally well-equipped physically for motherhood -- they tend to eat right up until delivery, and they trot into the vets office for C-sections, with bellies swinging. They tend to take excellent care of their pups.
Vicki's maternal grandmother, Resolute Stardust, also has had a major impact on our breeding program. From two litters, Dusty produced three champions, including Emma Pauline's littermates, CH. RESOLUTE SONRISE RISIN' STAR (mother of three champions to date, including National Sweeps winner Ch. Resolute Sonrise Polaris, who finished with three specialty majors) and Ch. Resolute Bettebus Belle Star, and Ch. Resolute Argonaut, from a breeding to Ch. RESOLUTE DREADNOUGHT
Vicki's maternal grandsire, Ch. CHEROKEE DAKOTA ROBERT, sired three of our champion bitches (Ch Resolute Bettebus Belle Star, Ch. Resolute Sonrise Risin, Star, and Ch. Helfyre's One Hot Number; a fourth, Helfyre's Tally Ho Turning Pt., needs just one point to finish.) Robert's sire, Ch. PRESTWICK GAWAIN, is also a multiple BIS/BISS winner, BCA Nationals Best of Breed winner and a Becket Award Winner. Robert's dam, Ch. Dakota Arrogant Harriet, is multiple BISS winner who produced three champions from Robert's litter. Harriet's sire, Ch. HETHERBULL BOUNTY'S FRIGATE, holds the all-time BIS record for a bulldog; he was also Best of Breed at the Nationals, and a Becket award winner.
Vicki's sire, Resolute Jebel Musa, produced 6 champions. All of his 6 champions finished with one or more specialty wins.. Jeb had 10 points, including a specialty reserve; he never completed his championship because of an eye injury. His two littermates finished their championships. Ch Resolute Daffodil was frequently Best of Opposite at specialties and Best of Breed at all breed shows. His brother Ch Resolute Rock of Gibraltar, CD, CGC, TT
Jeb's sire, Ch. DEYDEL STEADFAST HERCULES. is behind many of our dogs. He is in the BCA Hall of Fame, with 13 champions to his credit; he was the cover dog for the Bulldogger issue --------. Herc's sire, Ch. GLYNDEBOURNE ROYAL FANFARE is in the BCA Hall of Fame with 18 champions; he was group placing, with several BISS wins to his credit. Herc's dam, Ch. DEYDEL'S MATILDA, was specialty winning and in the BCA Hall of Fame with four champions to her credit.
Her Produce
Vicki had pups born in February 2001. Laura Burgan has Resolute Peacekeeper to show He is pointed and needs a major to finish. We co-own his sister, Resolute Steadfast the Diva, with Richard Smith. A third brother, Ch. Resolute Confederate Son, is owned by the Faeth's and was nationally ranked in 2002.
Her second litter had Resolute Red Hot Chili Peppa.
Her third litter had Resolute Rascal Dragon.
