Conformation
General Properties - Funny Girl is a clean, compact, sparkling little bitch who weighs approximately 48 pounds. She has a sleek, brilliant coat, which seems to shed dirt naturally. She is a clear red brindle piebald with very crisp markings against pure white with no ticking. She is a well-balanced animal who naturally stands squarely. She moves beautifully with her head up and her mouth shut, watching her handler. Her front movement is straight down from the shoulder and her rear movement is straight down from the hips. She has a pronounced roll, which is accentuated by her markings. She has a classic sour expression and a delightful disposition. She is a natural performer in the show ring, but an anxious traveler.
Head and Neck - Funny Girl’s has a clean, well-proportioned head with a particularly outstanding jaw with great width and exceptional turn - she has the perfect inverted “U” when viewed from the front. Her jaw buttons up perfectly with no teeth showing, and it is true. Her eyes are almost black, set correctly, and healthy. She has a deep stop, which extends the full length of her skull. The layback of her nose and skull are correct, although she has a somewhat deceptive wrinkle, crossing her brow, which can obscure the flatness of the skull itself. Her ears are small and correctly set -- ideally, we would like them just a little finer. She has lots of shoe polish-black pigment. She has a thick, beautifully arched neck with just enough dewlap and flews.
Body - Funny Girl is an exceptionally deep chested bitch, with beautiful spring of rib and depth of brisket. She is very short backed, with a top line and outstanding tuckup. She has a classic pear shape, with great width through the shoulders. Her shoulders are correctly tacked on -- she has a cathedral front. She is heavy boned, but still unmistakably feminine. She has small, tight feet.
Health and Temperament - Funny Girl is a sound, healthy bitch with a strong heart and normal thyroid. She has no allergies or skin problems. She is active and shows with her mouth shut, but she gets excited on long car trips, which has limited her show schedule. We expect to bring her out again in Spring 2001. She has had three or four extra eyelashes.
She is outgoing, confident, and sociable. At home, she is playful, affectionate, and very people-oriented. She is Julian’s pet, and helps him read, watch TV and relax in the recliner. She collects toys, which she shares with all people and carefully selected dogs. She is somewhat territorial - she will share her crate with another dog, but barks to protect the house from unusual noises and other threatening things. She loves all people and all male dogs, but can be selectively dominant toward other bitches on her own turf, but not outside the house.
Show Record
Funny Girl has been shown on a very limited basis because she is a poor traveler. She shows beautifully once the trip itself is over - she has three points to date.
Breeding Record
Her dam has produced three champions to date, including littermate Ch. Helfyre’s Fat Chance, Reserve Winners Bitch at BC Maine; littermate Ch.
