Conformation

General Properties -  Dewey is a brilliant copper red with pure white markings; her litter is the fourth generation with this color.  Her coat is sleek and glossy.  She is being shown at 53-54 pounds.  She is a sound, well-balanced bitch with exceptionally strong movement from all angles.  She moves straight down from the shoulder and has an excellent roll.  She has excellent bone, and gives the impression of strength and solidity without being doggy.  She has a very clean, crisp look.

Head  --  Dewey has a clean, well-proportioned head with excellent length, width and depth.  She has a deep stop extending the full length of her skull.  Her eyes are properly set and very dark.  Her jaw is wide and true, with absolutely even, straight teeth.  Her turn-up is good, and she buttons up perfectly with no teeth showing.  Her ears are properly set, following the line of the skull perfectly; however, they are thicker than we would like.  She has very black pigment fully rimming her eyes and lips.  Her nose is properly set, and her nostrils are wide open; she has a single wrinkle over her nose.   She has a strong, well-arched neck.

Body  --  Dewey is a pear-shaped, barrel-chested bitch with outstanding shoulders, rib, chest and brisket.  She has a medium-short back with a correctly placed roach.  Her tail set is below the loin of her back, but is not quite as low set as her mother’s.  She has a real tail, which is usually wagging; she has no tail problems.  She has neat, tight little feet with strong pasterns.  Her rear is correctly angulated, with no stifle or cruciate problems.  She is deep-chested, with nice tuckup.

Health and Temperament  --  Dewey is outgoing and sociable.  She is exuberant and playful, and will turn almost anything into a toy.  She gets along well with dogs and people.  She is a strong healthy bitch.  Her skin is healthy, with no allergies or other skin problems.  She has a real tail which clears her body, so she has no "tight tail" problems.  She has no cruciate or stifle problems.  Her nostrils are wide open, and she shows and exercises with her mouth shut.  She had cherry eye as a pup.  Her thyroid is normal and her heart is fine.

Show Record

Dewey has been shown on a very limited basis, simply because we had too many dogs ready to go at the same time.  She is pointed, has taken Best of Breed from the classes.  Unfortunately< she is no longer being shown because of an eye injury.

Breeding Record

Dewey’s sire, Ch. Resolute Doublenought ("Calvin"), has three pups pointed – one of whom is group-placing from the classes.  Calvin finished with a specialty major, and was group placing from the classes.  Calvin died at 6 1/2..  His sire, CH. RESOLUTE DREADNOUGHT (Duke), also finished with a specialty major.  Duke has sired 10 champions to date – including nine who finished with one or more specialty majors; another is pointed and a third has specialty reserve to her credit.  Duke was nine when he died.  Calvin’s dam, Ch. Resolute Daffodil, had nine specialty BOS; she was also group placing.  Calvin was her only pup.  Daffy was six when she died.

Dewey’s dam, Resolute Mountain Melody, has two pups pointed from her first litter, and two pointed from her second litter -- including a male who went Best Puppy Dog at the Bulldog Club of Connecticut Specialty Match, Best in Sweeps, Best Puppy and Reserve Winners Dog at the BCNJ Specialty and needs one point to finish.  She is now six, and in excellent health.  Her maternal granddam, Shrink-a-Bull Clementine, died at age 12. Her maternal grandsire, Ch. Resolute Magic Mountain, was seven when he died.
